What now Lord???

Since even before Brooks and I arrived to Mostar, we caught ourselves couple of times, asking God to show us what it is He wants us to do? It’s a tough question that’s why sometimes we feel like we don’t see an answer. Still there’s always an answer.

Last night was our first worship meeting and I love to worship. It is probably my favorite time with God.  And during worship God reminded me of a phrase we often use jokingly and that is “judgment free zone”. I thought to myself this is exactly how I feel in worship. There's no judgment, no evil looks just rest and fun time with our daddy. So I shared and encouraged the group to really take the worship nights and to feel free, judgment free zone, just you and God.

Later we talked and said how sometimes we talk with our friends and it’s not always that we want or need them to give us any kind of advice. Sometimes we just want them to listen. After everyone was gone I caught myself again asking God what it is you want from me from Brooks and I? Well I didn’t get an answer, at least not as an audible voice of God or a vision, or even a dove landing on my shoulders. It was more like a realization or revelation: FRIEND.

I strongly feel, in these next few months here we are to be friends. To listen and not necessarily talk back, instead worship. Worship is going to bring us all together, but more importantly closer to Christ. Worship speaks volumes, it crosses barriers, differences, it crosses oceans. So as we gather here to worship join us in prayer and praise. Please feel free to contact us if you have any praise and worship music you love so much you just want to share it with the whole world.

We will take it and sing it over our country, our friends, ourselves

God bless

Coming home

The day came fast and Brooks, myself and our seven bags were on our way to Mostar!!!! God has blessed our trip here so we were able to visit with our dear friends in TX, we had great flights, all of our bags arrived safely so to you all; thank you for covering us with prayer.

After about 24 hours we were excited to arrive in Mostar. We are still working on getting things situated but all in all, coming home is always good. So far we were able to see lots of our friends as well as lots of missionmostar friends.

Just like it always happens lots has changed here too. Political and economical situation has not improved a lot but we also noticed changes in spiritual situation. Our church family and friends here are still under a lot of attack wheatear it’s from their family, friends or the enemy himself. Some of them are growing weary but still nothing will change their passion and love for God. One of the first things we’ve noticed is the urgency for prayer covering.

Dear missionmostar we urge you to get on your knees and ask our Daddy how you can pray for Mostar and missions here. From what we see here right now we’ve decided to focus a lot on prayer and reconnecting with our friends. So for this next period we ask you to join us in prayer for MissionMostar, for the youth, the kids, especially those in missionmostar kids club, as well as for Brooks and me (Julijana) too.

Please contact us and we will make sure your prayer list gets longer!

Be patient as we are trying to get situated and get our internet working but we guarantee you will be hearing all about our days here.

God bless

The Master is in need of it

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to ask people for things? As Brooks and I are getting ready to go back on a mission field we have found ourselves asking around for donations. We’ve visited churches, we wrote multiple letters, we’re constantly online and yet it is still as hard to keep asking for support. Me personally, I always find excuses for other people. Things like , they have their own things to worry about, or they’re really small church, or they’re not into missions . . . the list goes on and on.

But then I get reminded, even as I’m writing just now, there’s no better time then this to get involved into missions. The need to introduce Jesus to the world is not getting any smaller.

Jesus himself asked other people to support him. Remember the story in the Bible when He sent his disciples to ask for support simply saying “the master is in need of it” (Luke 19:30-40)

No explanation necessary! The fields are ripe and the time is now, the master, the kingdom is in need of it!!!!! Please read these verses and see what happens as the result of asking others for support. The master, the kingdom himself rode gloriously into the city and the people praised him.  So really, why does MissionMostar ask for your support? We want to see you play a part in kingdom expansion, we want to see Jesus come into the cities or neighborhoods because of your support. Do you want to be the one who’s “donkey” Jesus rode on into the city?

Yet, after all, I still wish I have the boldness of the disciples to say the kingdom is expanding, the master is coming, and we need your support!!!!!!

Please see how you can get involved with MissionMostar. There are multiple ways for you to show your support, weather it is financially, through prayer or even joining us on a mission trip, or just simply keeping in touch. We just like to see you by our side.

Have an idea????

imagesCAZZH28T

Is everyone as excited about warmer weather as MissionMostar is? Spring and summer are our favorite time a year. We are so excited to spend this time in Bosnia because it brings everyone out, it brings new kids to the club, gives us more outreach opportunities, and in Bosnia, it is also somewhat of a rainy season.  I want to share with you one of our projects for this spring, which you can also read about in our newsletter mailer.

We will be raising money to purchase about 20 pairs of shoes and 20 umbrellas which we will present to couple of gypsy kids in need of the same.  For many of them, having a pair of brand new shoes is a luxury, much less having an umbrella to go with it.

We feel this will open up the door for all our future projects and outreaches, but mostly give us and you all an opportunity to build relationships and even start projects such as “adopt a child”!

It is so exciting to see God give us all these ideas through you, our families, and other missionary friends, but, what we’re really looking forward also is even more of your input. If you have an idea for a project or an outreach you’d like to see accomplished LET US KNOW! In our few months over in Bosnia we’d like to do one major outreach a month which will then lead up to our summer mission week, where we’re hoping to have some of you join in.

Now you “have an idea” why spring is our favorite time a year. Spring brings everything to life and this is exactly what we want to see happen with MissionMostar in the next couple of months and in the future too.

Please contact us if you’d like to hear more about our projects and how you can get involved!

Getting closer

Here we are again. We’re still State side slowly approaching our travel date. In the mean time we are continuing with networking and raising support.

We were recently on the phone with our ministry coordinator in Bosnia and she asked for our prayers due to an unfortunate event. Two of our  kids from the sports club had a house fire and lost everything in just few hours. The family is in a tough situation anyway and having a house fire start your year off doesn’t look good either.

Darko and Tatjana were planning on visiting the family trying to see in what ways we can show our support. This means you all too! Please pray for the kids we’re ministering too as well as their family. If you’d like to help in other ways please feel free to do so. This is our time to show them all the sides of missionmostar!

Continue thinking about joining us for summer mission trip to Bosnia. We promise to keep you up to date on all the planning. For those of you who are hearing about this for the first time contact us for more info. Contact us with prayers! Contact us with encouragement! Contact us with ideas . . . . just contact us we love to know you’re there partnering with us.

Watch out for our next  blog and until then God bless, keep thinking Kingdom things!!!!

On the road again

What an amazing time we’ve had this past two weeks. For those who followed us on Facebook or Twitter you noticed we had  a lot of fun traveling, visiting, networking, itinerating. We started off way south in Key largo and worked our way up to Orlando, Lake Panasoffkee, Savannah, Atlanta and back to Oklahoma! During this time we met with many of our old contacts and were blessed with all new ones too. We had the opportunity to share with the Church of the Messiah God’s vision and our plan for the ministry. We also  partnered with other mission organizations and businesses while on the trip. Be on the lookout for some exciting mission trips and events coming soon!We were truly blessed to be able to reconnect with our old friends, pray, be prayed for, share and fellowship together.

After a successful trip filled with blessings and prayer as well as  a couple of back aches from driving many many miles we are already planning on visiting some of our other contacts this time closer to Oklahoma. We were also just asked to share at a local church here in Skiatook. God is blessing us in so many ways. Please keeps us in your prayers as we are trying to raise money for MissionMostar and answer God’s calling on our lives. If you’d like to have us visit you, or if you want us to share at your local church or community,  let us know and we’ll be there. Be blessed until next week!

P.S. MissionMostar has a challenge for everyone! As you read this blog entry we challenge you to reply to it with a prayer need, encouragement or just because we want to know you’re out there and you’re with us on this adventure.

2011 Vision

vision2

Writing your vision is not an easy task. You kind of put your thoughts, your heart out there for all to see. And then people look to you trying to see any signs of this same vision coming to life. So I am glad that God is the author and finisher of our faith for it is out of our faith and hope we are writing this vision;

MissionMostar in 2011 has plans of returning to Mostar for a few months. The reason behind it is to refresh the relationships that were left behind and to find new ones. Part of our vision is to renew and refresh the ties with our friends, youth and kids, to share our refreshed excitement for God through worship, sports, and bible studies. We want to see MissionMostar get involved more with what the churches are doing in B&H and to somehow offer up more assistance. So it’s a goal of ours to attend conferences as well as organize them for the people of BiH. MissionMostar wants to get involved with summer camps, bible study groups, prayer groups and just being a part of everything it can...

It is our prayer and hope that 2011 brings expansion and growth in the children’s club. Over the years the number of kids coming to events and programs held by MM has grown tremendously, so we really want to see how we can get more volunteers involved this year. We want to expanding the sports club to even a bigger space for all the activities and programs we wish to see happen this year. Our vision for 2011 is big, but our God is bigger. Please join with is in prayers for our vision, this year we have huge goals that can only be met by God.

Greetings,

Starting March 2011 Brooks and Julijana Cone will be returning to the Mission's field on a permanent basis. God has been speaking to us and we feel it’s time to step out in faith and really push ourselves and our ministry to new levels and opportunities. We have been praying earnestly about the direction and blessings God has for us and we believe very strongly that we are to return to the Mission field. Scary times one might think about returning to the ministry full time, fully relying on support alone. I agree! But I also believe that this is what God has for us. I've spent days and nights crying out to God for rock solid confirmation of this endeavor and I got it. My head and heart is for missions, ministering to hearts and souls that long for something more meaning full in life... God. My passion is sharing what God has, is and will do in my life and in the lives of those who meet Him for the first time. Our vision is to share in Worship, Love and Compassion for God's people and be a part of a rejoicing hope and future (Isaiah 55:5-7).

We can't do it alone, like everything in this world; we rely on the color green for purchasing those ticketed items. We need cash to make our paper ideas, physical realities. We are call out to you to please partner with us in prayer, and then to seriously consider partnering with us on a monetary level. There are so many ways you can help!

There are a number of ways one can get involved with Mission Mostar. Truth is with you and God's faithfulness, there is no limitation to the growing revival and lives MissionMostar is changing. Partnering with us in 2011 equals success, so let's see what God can do around the world and in our lives this year. Ten years we have been in Mission's ministry together, I look forward to the next decade to see what God is going to do.
