The Master is in need of it

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to ask people for things? As Brooks and I are getting ready to go back on a mission field we have found ourselves asking around for donations. We’ve visited churches, we wrote multiple letters, we’re constantly online and yet it is still as hard to keep asking for support. Me personally, I always find excuses for other people. Things like , they have their own things to worry about, or they’re really small church, or they’re not into missions . . . the list goes on and on.

But then I get reminded, even as I’m writing just now, there’s no better time then this to get involved into missions. The need to introduce Jesus to the world is not getting any smaller.

Jesus himself asked other people to support him. Remember the story in the Bible when He sent his disciples to ask for support simply saying “the master is in need of it” (Luke 19:30-40)

No explanation necessary! The fields are ripe and the time is now, the master, the kingdom is in need of it!!!!! Please read these verses and see what happens as the result of asking others for support. The master, the kingdom himself rode gloriously into the city and the people praised him.  So really, why does MissionMostar ask for your support? We want to see you play a part in kingdom expansion, we want to see Jesus come into the cities or neighborhoods because of your support. Do you want to be the one who’s “donkey” Jesus rode on into the city?

Yet, after all, I still wish I have the boldness of the disciples to say the kingdom is expanding, the master is coming, and we need your support!!!!!!

Please see how you can get involved with MissionMostar. There are multiple ways for you to show your support, weather it is financially, through prayer or even joining us on a mission trip, or just simply keeping in touch. We just like to see you by our side.

Have an idea????

imagesCAZZH28T

Is everyone as excited about warmer weather as MissionMostar is? Spring and summer are our favorite time a year. We are so excited to spend this time in Bosnia because it brings everyone out, it brings new kids to the club, gives us more outreach opportunities, and in Bosnia, it is also somewhat of a rainy season.  I want to share with you one of our projects for this spring, which you can also read about in our newsletter mailer.

We will be raising money to purchase about 20 pairs of shoes and 20 umbrellas which we will present to couple of gypsy kids in need of the same.  For many of them, having a pair of brand new shoes is a luxury, much less having an umbrella to go with it.

We feel this will open up the door for all our future projects and outreaches, but mostly give us and you all an opportunity to build relationships and even start projects such as “adopt a child”!

It is so exciting to see God give us all these ideas through you, our families, and other missionary friends, but, what we’re really looking forward also is even more of your input. If you have an idea for a project or an outreach you’d like to see accomplished LET US KNOW! In our few months over in Bosnia we’d like to do one major outreach a month which will then lead up to our summer mission week, where we’re hoping to have some of you join in.

Now you “have an idea” why spring is our favorite time a year. Spring brings everything to life and this is exactly what we want to see happen with MissionMostar in the next couple of months and in the future too.

Please contact us if you’d like to hear more about our projects and how you can get involved!

Getting closer

Here we are again. We’re still State side slowly approaching our travel date. In the mean time we are continuing with networking and raising support.

We were recently on the phone with our ministry coordinator in Bosnia and she asked for our prayers due to an unfortunate event. Two of our  kids from the sports club had a house fire and lost everything in just few hours. The family is in a tough situation anyway and having a house fire start your year off doesn’t look good either.

Darko and Tatjana were planning on visiting the family trying to see in what ways we can show our support. This means you all too! Please pray for the kids we’re ministering too as well as their family. If you’d like to help in other ways please feel free to do so. This is our time to show them all the sides of missionmostar!

Continue thinking about joining us for summer mission trip to Bosnia. We promise to keep you up to date on all the planning. For those of you who are hearing about this for the first time contact us for more info. Contact us with prayers! Contact us with encouragement! Contact us with ideas . . . . just contact us we love to know you’re there partnering with us.

Watch out for our next  blog and until then God bless, keep thinking Kingdom things!!!!

On the road again

What an amazing time we’ve had this past two weeks. For those who followed us on Facebook or Twitter you noticed we had  a lot of fun traveling, visiting, networking, itinerating. We started off way south in Key largo and worked our way up to Orlando, Lake Panasoffkee, Savannah, Atlanta and back to Oklahoma! During this time we met with many of our old contacts and were blessed with all new ones too. We had the opportunity to share with the Church of the Messiah God’s vision and our plan for the ministry. We also  partnered with other mission organizations and businesses while on the trip. Be on the lookout for some exciting mission trips and events coming soon!We were truly blessed to be able to reconnect with our old friends, pray, be prayed for, share and fellowship together.

After a successful trip filled with blessings and prayer as well as  a couple of back aches from driving many many miles we are already planning on visiting some of our other contacts this time closer to Oklahoma. We were also just asked to share at a local church here in Skiatook. God is blessing us in so many ways. Please keeps us in your prayers as we are trying to raise money for MissionMostar and answer God’s calling on our lives. If you’d like to have us visit you, or if you want us to share at your local church or community,  let us know and we’ll be there. Be blessed until next week!

P.S. MissionMostar has a challenge for everyone! As you read this blog entry we challenge you to reply to it with a prayer need, encouragement or just because we want to know you’re out there and you’re with us on this adventure.
